The World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC) have ratified the transatlantic and 24 hour records of Groupama 3, Franck CAMMAS’s (FRA) 105-foot maxi-trimaran.

The ISAF Grade WC Troia Portugal Match Cup, round 9 of the 2006-07 World Match Racing Tour, experienced an Australian master class today, in the shape of Peter GILMOUR (AUS) and his reunited PST team, as they blew away the young British pretender to the throne, Ian WILLIAMS (GBR) of Team Pindar.

Word from that far away Island that rains lots is that Grogs Jr (oliver) has just won the first two races of the optimist Nationals.

Lets give him some support on here and see if we can’t have a National Champion sailing at DOSC next season.

Young Nick Froud is also inside the top ten.

Great breeze & surfing conditions – it doesn’t get much better” is how current overall leader Jeremy Davy described the days sailing.  Competitors enjoyed stronger wind conditions with a fresh westerly breeze and sunny conditions.   The fleet launched with the support of the slipway team while North Ayrshire Economic Development Manager, Alex Anderson, watched on and was very impressed to see all the action and hoped the sailors would enjoy their sailing at Largs.
